Google’s Chromebooks have always been laptops at their very core, as much as last year’s Pixel book bucked the trend with its four in one design.

Now, a new leak indicates that the firm may be heading into the detachable market with one of its ChromeOS hardware releases for this year. Codenamed Nocturne, not much is known about this Chromebook. However, the leaked video appears to show a surface style keyboard connector, something that is not currently offered on ay Chromebooks at the moment. The keys on this keyboard are currently rounded  — as is Google’s design language in Android Pie and Chrome OS. The video emerged as part of a bug report, which has now been pulled, adding credence to the idea that this was something that we were not meant to see just yet.

Google is also reportedly working on a true Pixelbook successor, codenamed Atlas. We haven’t seen any leaks of that, but both devices are expected to launch next month at Google’s October event.
