Google Vids has added a bright new “Import Slides” button that flips any Google Slides deck into a video storyboard. Users can pick their presentation, tick the slides, and Vids builds scene-by-scene clips with all the text and images in place. You can also tweak timing, add object moves, or lean on Veo 3 to get fresh AI-generated b-roll without ever leaving the editor.

The pipeline starts rolling out across Rapid Release and Scheduled Release domains now and should finish within 15 days. Admins don’t have to lift a finger, so creators can jump in as soon as the button shows up.

Who can access the feature?

This is now available to all Workspace plans, including Business Starter, in addition to Business Standard and Plus. The Essentials, Enterprise Essentials, and Enterprise Essentials Plus also have access to this feature. The Gemini Education and Gemini Education Premium add-ons are also covered in this, alongside the retired Gemini Business and Gemini Enterprise packs.

Vids positions itself against Clipchamp, Canva, and Riverside: quick video output for slide-first thinkers rather than timeline wizards. With this feature, the tech giant makes pitching an idea with a shareable clip easier. Whether Veo 3’s AI footage will be a showstopper or merely fill the gaps is yet to be seen. However, the new workflow helps trim the busywork and puts video within reach for anyone who already knows how to click “Next slide.”
