Google throws Windows Phone a bone, will make a charity app for the OS

Windows Phone users will know Google as being pretty hostile towards Windows Phone in many ways.
It therefore comes as a great surprise to see the company planning to create an app for the OS.
It however becomes more understandable when one realizes that it is the less evil arm of the company doing the work.
Google’s charity arm has said they plan to port their Android app One Today to iOS, Blackberry and Windows Phone.
The app presents users with a range of worthy charities each day to whom the user can donate a maximum of $1. To donate more users need to recruit their friends to also chip in.
Charities range from rhino protection in Africa to education projects in Laos, microgrant initiatives in Nicaragua, and trees for farmers in Kenya. Nonprofits can register with Google, asking to promote their projects in the app. The donations are tax deductible.
While the intentions of the app is good, one wonders why Google’s charity arm has the resources to serve Windows Phone users when so many of their other divisions find the OS and its users so ignorable.
