Google has announced several new updates across its mobile and Workspace apps, enhancing user experience and productivity.

Starting this week, Gmail’s mobile app for iOS devices gets a fresh look aligned with Material Design 3, matching the web and Android versions. Meanwhile, Google Vids now offers improved editing tools, allowing users to adjust the timeline height for easier object and audio track management.

iOS users can now create and edit birthday events directly in Google Calendar, a feature previously available only on Android. Additionally, Gmail users on Android and iOS can generate images using Gemini AI in the app’s side panel, enabling easy insertion into email drafts.

For large-screen Android devices like tablets and foldables, Gmail and Google Chat now support draggable dividers, giving users more flexibility between one-pane and two-pane layouts.

In education updates, Google Classroom now lets teachers email student groups, sort assignments by groups, and edit groups during assignment creation. Google Slides also expands its template library, adding designs for business proposals, marketing plans, team intros, and more.

These features are rolling out to Google Workspace customers, individual subscribers, and users with personal accounts, aiming to make work, learning, and communication even smoother across platforms.
