Google Chrome

Google will be adding a new feature to Chrome for iOS in the coming weeks. As per a spotted Chrome commit, Google has finally added code for credit card scanning to its app for iPhones, iPads and iPods.

The code commits states:

Implement credit card scanner screen.
Implement Credit card scanner view & view controller as a subclass of QRScanner.

While Google already has an easy way for users who use Google pay to add their payment details with ease, a credit card scanner could help improve the ease of use over the stubborn and reticent, for those who don’t like Google Pay, or just to give developers the option. Google already offers this feature on Android devices, with iPhones being late to the party.

It’ll likely roll out within a few weeks to Chrome for iOS.
