Ubisoft recently shared their earnings figures for the last quarter and it appears that until June 2017, Tom Clancy’s Ghost Recon Wildlands was the year’s best-selling game. The report said:

Back-catalog sales of €190.4 million, (94.3% of total sales vs 91.1% in firstquarter 2016-17)
– Confirmation of the increasingly recurring profile of the Group’s business
– Entire Ubisoft portfolio contributed to performance
– Tom Clancy’s Ghost Recon® Wildlands: the industry’s biggest hit since the beginning of the year

It clearly labels the game as the biggest hit and if you read on, this distinction applies to physical and digital game sales. This is definitely quite the achievement. Even though we found Ghost Recon Wildlands a little boring, it’s great to see it doing so well. Hopefully this will be enough for Ubisoft to prevent a hostile Vivendi takeover by renewing confidence in investors.
