Bethesda previously announced that both The Elder Scrolls V: Skyrim Special Edition and Fallout 4 would be receiving Xbox One X enhancements, and it looks like those updates are going out today according to the publisher.

On the community forums for both Skyrim Special Edition and Fallout 4, it was also revealed that these updates come with some minor bug fixes as well, like updating the script functions to support new Creations and removing the report button from Mods as they should be reported on Bethesda.net instead. Fallout 4 also received a patch to fix corrupted textures related to reflections.

The enhancement for both games are as follows:

Fallout 4

  • Supports 4K Resolution
  • Enhanced features include:
    • Dynamic Resolution
    • Enhanced draw distance for trees, grass, objects and NPCs
    • Enhanced God Ray effects

Skyrim Special Edition

  • Supports 4K Resolution
  • Enhanced features include:
    • Dynamic Resolution

If you own either of these games, be sure to try them out on Xbox One X to get the best experience on console. Bethesda has offered a tremendous amount of support for several of its games on Xbox One X, so hopefully more developers follow suit. Wolfenstein II, Dishonored 2 & Death of the Outsider, The Evil Within 2, and The Elder Scrolls Online all feature Xbox One X enhancements.
