Facebook Messenger Not Showing Messages from One Person

Is Facebook Messenger not showing messages from one person? I’ve been in that situation recently. A friend complained that I was ignoring her on FB. This surprised me because I couldn’t see any new messages from her.

Below, I’ll show you how to fix this problem with ease.

But before you jump into the solutions, make sure you:

  • Check if you’re still friends with the person: You’ll see Add Friend or Follow on their profile if they’ve unfriended you. If they’ve blocked you, their profile name will appear as Facebook User instead. The same name will appear if they’ve deleted their Facebook accounts.
  • Check your connectivity: Ensure that your device isn’t in airplane mode. If you’re on mobile data, you can turn it off and on again. If you’re on WiFi, see whether other devices on the network are connecting to the internet.
  • Restart your phone/browser: Fix OS bugs that can cause the message delay by restarting your device. If you’re on a PC or web, you can close the browser and open it again.

1. Go Through Your Message Requests

  • Open your chat.

  • Click on Options (3 dots.)

  • Click on Message requests.

  • You’ll see your message requests. They’re most likely in the You May Know folder, but checking the Spam folder is worthwhile.
