With the latest Dropbox iOS app update, you can now use the new plus button on iPhone to create new Microsoft Word, PowerPoint, and Excel files files directly from the mobile app. They’ll be saved to your Dropbox automatically. “The new plus button in the Dropbox iOS app adds a convenient way to create and save Office documents on the go, helping people work better together, wherever they are,” said Rob Howard, Director of Office Marketing at Microsoft.

How do I create office documents in the Dropbox app?

  1. Open the Dropbox app on your iPhone.
  2. Tap the plus (+) button.
  3. Choose Create or Upload file.
  4. Tap Microsoft Word, Microsoft Excel, or Microsoft PowerPoint to create a new file. Or, tap Upload File to upload an existing file.

You’ll be directed to the appropriate Microsoft app (or prompted to install the app if you don’t have it installed) to edit your newly created file. If you haven’t yet downloaded the Office mobile apps on your Android or iOS device, use the following links to download them for free.
