Measure GetImageOptions

Here’s an interesting piece of software. DarkRuler allows you to measure objects against an object of a known size using the camera on your smartphone.

Here is a basic explanation of the tool. Lets say you need to measure the with of your bookcase but you don’t have anything to measure it. well you could guess how wide it is, OR you take out your Diamond, place a credit card in the case and take a picture of the bookcase from within DarkRuler. Once the picture is taken, you align the credit card from the picture with the placeholder on your screen using the touch display, the zoom buttons etc. Once you have it all aligned you lock the picture and now you can start measuring your bookcase. The diamond will calculate the distances for you.

The software is open source and is available via Codeplex. Read more about the software here.
