Microsoft has been working on a dark theme for Windows 10 PCs over the past few months, this theme has been refined from a pitch black interface to a dark grey theme as the firm works on refining the ideal dark theme.

A concept on Reddit gives us some idea of what that might look like, with the dark grey of Windows, juxtaposed with more than a heavy touch of acrylic as pictured above.

This concept isn’t the worst thing ever, but there’s just something about the juxtaposition of acrylic and a dark grey theme that seems unnerving to some users, who prefer it to be a solid black for increased contrast.

Microsoft has been hesitant in bringing its acrylic material to non-Windows 10 apps, and this concept might show why the firm is taking its time.

That being said, it is a nice look, and we’d hope to see something from Microsoft as it iterates over the next few months.
