Activision and Sledgehammer are taking Call of Duty back to the second World War, with players landing in Normandy on D-Day as Private Ronald ‘Red’ Daniels, following the 1st Infantry Division, known as the “Bloody 1st”, battling through Europe through iconic locations in history’s most monumental war. The story will tell the tale of an “unbreakable brotherhood of common men fighting to preserve freedom”, with the idea that no man (or woman) fights alone.

Activision has stated that the title will be getting two private betas, the first beta exclusively for PS4 on August 25th, and a second beta for both Xbox One and PS4 on September 4th, starting at 10 AM PDT and ending three days later. In order to be part of the private beta, all gamers have to do is to preorder the game. It’s not yet known what maps or game modes will be included in the CoD: WW2 beta however.

In the latest game for the series, players will finally have the ability to target tanks as strategic objectives. This is an addition to a new Headquarters mode, which will support up to 48 players in a virtual hub, where you can talk to other online players and test your skills on the Firing Range. And of course, there will be a new Divisions pack for the game, which includes some special outfits for the five different Divisions that will be featured in the game. Get the new pack when you preorder the title. Then there’s a season pass which offers even more content.
