Apple to launch its own video streaming service in April to take on Netflix

According to latest report from Bloomberg, Apple will reveal its video streaming service next month at a press event. Apple has invited several Hollywood personalities including Jennifer Aniston, Jennifer Garner and director JJ Abrams to attend this event.

According to CNBC, Apple is targeting April to launch their service for general consumers and it will include original content free for Apple device owners. CNBC also reported that Netflix will not be part of Apple’s “Channels” service which will allow users to watch all their subscribed streaming content from iOS TV app.

This upcoming service from Apple will take on Netflix, Amazon Prime Video and others. Apple has invested around a billion dollar to produce original content for its video streaming service. Apple has also signed content partnerships with Oprah Winfrey, Steven Spielberg, Reese Witherspoon and others.
