Affinity Designer is a vector graphics editor for Apple’s OS X by Serif Europe. It can open Portable Document Format (PDF), Adobe Photoshop, and Adobe Illustrator files, as well as export to those formats and to the Scalable Vector Graphics (SVG) and Encapsulated PostScript (EPS) formats.

It was selected as a runner-up in Apple’s “Best of 2014” list of Mac App Store and iTunes Store content in the OS X app category and has won the Apple Design Award 2015.

The company has been promising a Windows app for some time, and have now posted an update regarding the delay to one of their fans.

They said:

We just wanted to drop you a note to give you a quick update on where we are at with the Windows development of Affinity. It has taken very slightly longer than hoped, but we are excited to be able to tell you that your first free beta of Affinity Designer for Windows is nearly ready – in fact, we confidently expect to make it available before the end of this month.

We are making very good progress with Affinity Photo on Windows too, and we expect that to follow Designer within a few months.

Those who want to take part in the beta can still sign up at Affinity here.
