Microsoft has released the Windows 10 Anniversary Update to PCs and the HoloLens. Unfortunately, if you are smashing the Checking for Updates button on your Windows Phone, it’s not going to help. This is because Microsoft isn’t releasing the Windows 10 Anniversary Update for Windows 10 Mobile devices today. The company stated that the rollout will start “in the coming weeks,” but there isn’t any exact release date:
Starting today the Windows 10 Anniversary Update will begin rolling out for our customers around the world. The Windows 10 Anniversary Update is full of new features and innovations that bring Windows Ink and Cortana to life; a faster, more accessible and more power-efficient Microsoft Edge browser; advanced security features; new gaming experiences and more. The Windows 10 Anniversary Update will start rolling out to Windows 10 Mobile phones in the coming weeks.
This isn’t very surprising, considering the fact that Windows 10 Mobile Anniversary Update still has a few rough edges and bugs. For now, if you really want to try out Anniversary Update on your Windows 10 Mobile device, just get it via the Windows Insider program’s Release Preview ring.
