Microsoft Q2 FY19 Earnings: Holiday sales pushes Surface revenue to $1.8 billion

Microsoft today reported its Q2 FY19 earnings results with strong revenue and operating income, thanks to continued growth of Microsoft Cloud and other enterprise services.

Microsoft also reported that the Surface revenue grew 39% YoY (41% in constant currency). The revenue was $1.860 billion, and this is the sixth consecutive quarter for Microsoft to hit billion dollar revenue with hardware sales. Thanks to Surface Go and discounts on latest Surface products, Microsoft enjoyed a great holiday quarter in terms of sales both from consumers and commercial customers.

It will be interesting to see how Microsoft moves forward in the hardware market with new category of devices in the pipeline for 2019. Microsoft may also reveal HoloLens vNext at MWC press event next month, you can read about it here.
