Fitbit has quietly added a new fitness tracker to its website, but the device is not for everyone.

Called the Inspire and the Inspire HR, and roughly equivalent to the Fitbit Charge 3, the tracker is designed to be used as part of employee or insurance wellness schemes, allowing end users to earn rewards for healthy activity and exercise.

The site notes:

“These special release trackers are available exclusively through Fitbit corporate, wellness, health plan, and health systems partners and customers of their organizations, participants, and members.”

The price is not available publicly as it varies from provider to provider, but the device is available in two versions – the Inspire which mainly offers movement and sleep tracking and phone notifications, and the Inspire HR, which also adds heart rate tracking and connected GPS.

Fitbit has said these corporate customers have become increasingly important to them,  with over 6.8 million patients, employee and health plan members signed up for wellness programs with incorporate Fitbit trackers,  but until recently their efforts have mainly been software based – this is the first time Fitbit has created dedicated hardware for the market.

Interested potential buyers can read more about the devices here.
