Display on Apple devices to get a lot better, thanks to a new technology

According to research from TF International Securities analyst Ming-Chi Kuo, Apple is all set to give a quality boost to its displays on its range of devices. The report suggests that Apple is eyeing mini LED Backlighting for its iPad and MacBook Pro due to several advantages such as a high contrast ratio, high dynamic range, wide color gamut and many more.

You’ll see a 31.6-inch monitor from Apple launching in the second or third quarter of 2019, a new iPad in late 2020 or early 2021, and a new MacBook in the first half of 2021, the displays of these products will have the latest ‘mini LED’ technology on their display.

Aside from a high contrast ratio, wide color gamut, there are other advantages of using mini LED. such as the longevity of the displays.

Rumor has it that Apple will showcase the external display with mini LED technology at its annual programmer’s conference WWDC which is set to take place in June this year.
