Looking for a “Your version of Windows 11 has reached end of service” error fix? If you’re using Windows 11 version 22H2 or an older version, you may have recently received this message.
As of October 8, 2024, Microsoft no longer updates these versions. This can leave your system vulnerable to security risks and cause compatibility issues with newer software.
Fortunately, there’s an easy solution: upgrading to a supported version. Here’s how!
Upgrade to the Latest Supported Version of Windows 11
You’ll need to use the Windows 11 Installation Assistant. This tool helps you upgrade your system to the most recent version, so you’ll get the latest security updates and features. Follow the steps below:
- Visit the Windows 11 Download page and click the “Download now” button under the “Windows 11 Installation Assistant” section.
- Once that’s done, tap the download icon on the top right corner of your screen and open the Installation Assistant.
- Follow the on-screen instructions to upgrade your system. This tool will automatically check for compatibility and guide you through the upgrade process.
- The process may take some time, depending on your system’s specifications and internet speed.
- After the upgrade is complete, restart your computer to finish the process. You’ll now run a supported version of Windows 11, which still receives updates and support.
- To confirm the version after upgrading, type “winver.exe” in the search bar beside the Start menu and click Open.
- You’ll notice your computer is running Version 24H2.
And that’s the “Your version of Windows 11 has reached end of service” error fix.
Note: If you’re running Version 23H2 and get the error message, contact Microsoft through the Feedback Hub app (press Windows + F). This version can still be updated until November 2025.
Upgrading to a supported version of Windows 11 is essential for maintaining your computer’s health and security. The Windows 11 Installation Assistant will update your system.
