Update: Ice Universe has published another tweet which suggests the phone might come with a surround screen. Of course, it will be the first time for a company to add surround screen to a phone but the latest poster from Mi suggest that it might be the case after all.

Original Story: Recently Vivo launched their new Nex 3 lineup that came with the waterfall display and if you thought Vivo went overboard then wait till you see Xiaomi’s upcoming Mix Alpha.

The image of Xiaomi Mix Alpha was shared by popular smartphone leaker, Ice Universe. The image shows a perfect curved display that runs from edge-to-edge. According to Ice Universe, Xiaomi has reached stage four smartphone screen development. Right now, the extra curved display is just for aesthetics and doesn’t increase the surface area for touch interaction. This is to prevent accidental touches and the method works well.

We expect Xiaomi to follow the same method and disable touch on the curved edges of the Xiaomi Mix Alpha. This should prevent accidental touches while giving an immersive bezel-less viewing experience. The image looks like that of the official invite which also confirms that the device will be launching on 24th September 2019. We don’t know about the availability yet but Xiaomi is expected to talk about it at the launch event.
