Microsoft announced today that the Xbox Games Showcase and Starfield Direct, which took place on June 11, 2023, was the most-watched Xbox show ever.Â
The event, which featured over 27 game reveals and announcements, was watched by over 92 million people across seven days. This represents a 38% increase in viewership from last year’s Xbox Games Showcase.
The Xbox Games Showcase and Starfield Direct featured a wide variety of games, from big-budget triple-A titles like Starfield and Forza Motorsport to smaller indie games like South of Midnight and Clockwork Revolution.Â
The show also featured a number of new announcements, including the reveal of the Carbon Black Xbox Series S and the High on Knife DLC for High on Life.
Xbox Head of Marketing Jerret West said in a statement, “We’re thrilled to see that so many people tuned in to the Xbox Games Showcase and Starfield Direct. Our goal was to bring something for everyone, and we’re glad that we were able to do that. We’re not done yet, though. We have a lot more to show over the coming months and years, and we can’t wait to share it with you.”
What’s next for the green console? Well, as Microsoft finalizes the hotly-anticipated Activision deal, Xbox will be attending Gamescom in Germany in August, where they will be showcasing even more games. The company has not yet announced any specific details about its Gamescom presence, but they have promised to share more news “in the next few weeks.”
