Post-Update 1 Pre-update

Microsoft has bowed to the mobile dominance of Webkit by both adapting IE11 Mobile closer to the de facto standards of Android and iOS, and by pretending to be the both Android 4.0 and iOS 7.

The new User Agent String is:

Mozilla/5.0 (Mobile; Windows Phone 8.1; Android 4.0; ARM; Trident/7.0; Touch; rv:11.0; IEMobile/11.0; NOKIA; Lumia 930) like iPhone OS 7_0_3 Mac OS X AppleWebKit/537 (KHTML, like Gecko) Mobile Safari/537

As can be seen from the screen shots above, the change is enough to fool Gmail into giving Windows Phone 8.1 Update 1 users the iOS site, which features gradients, transitions, animations and many features, versus the awful WAP site they have been serving for the last 10 years.
