Microsoft has announced that it will be adding a new canary build of Windows Terminal, called Windows Terminal Canary, to the Windows Terminal family.Â
This new build will include experimental features, including the new AI chat feature.
“We also have exciting news to share about the developer tools you already know and love: Windows Subsystem for Linux and Windows Terminal,” says Microsoft.
The announcement came right on time with the latest Windows update. Now, Microsoft says in the announcement that new builds of this channel will be available nightly.
Windows Terminal Canary is the least stable channel of Windows Terminal (or so-called hot-off-the-presses), so users may be the first to discover bugs that no one else has before.
Speaking of Terminal, Redmond also says that they’re rolling out Windows Terminal 1.19 Preview with a few features here and there.Â
This update, will soon go live, will contain new UI element for commands suggestions, broadcast input, and even web search.
“The Suggestions UI is a new UI element in Windows Terminal that provides text suggestions to the user. These suggestions can come from recently run commands, saved commands, and more,” the update reads.
“Broadcast Input allows users to broadcast their input from one Terminal pane to another Terminal pane in real time,” it explains further.
