Mary Jo Foley has revealed another Windows Phone leader has moved out of the department recently.

According to her Matt Bencke, General Manager for Developer and Marketplace, has moved or been moved from the Windows Phone to Xbox Live in November this year.

The department has been the sterling success of the Windows Phone story, delivering more than 45,000 apps in little more than a year.

Matt Bencke had been in the Developer GM role since November 2010 and was a part of the team that worked on the Microsoft-Nokia partnership.

Mary Jo Foley speculates all the movement is related to a possible move of Windows Phone under Steven Sinofsky, and involve the integration of the Windows Phone via the MinWin kernel into Windows 8.
