Kantar has released their market share numbers for the 3 months ending August 2015.
That period represents the lull before the release of the iPhone, when the market in general is somewhat down. Windows Phone buyers are of course immune to this effect, and resulting in a corresponding increase in our market share, as noted by Kantar, who said:
“Windows Phone share has experienced some growth in France, Germany, and Australia, and maintained share elsewhere, but we have not seen any major impact on the overall market, despite some aggressive price points. At the Windows 10 New York launch on October 6, we saw Microsoft refocused on offering a companion phone for users of Windows 10, and enterprise-class devices to IT departments – a more modest goal perhaps, but certainly a more realistic one.”
Year on year the OS has made great strides in Germany, France, and even Australia, and has been able to maintain its good market share in Italy and UK.
Even month on month we are seeing new highs in France, which is of course a massive market.
Last month’s numbers can be seen here.
