Microsoft today released Windows 10 SDK Preview Build 17682 to developers. This SDK can be used with the recently released Windows 10 Insider Build 17682 or later. This SDK comes with support for new MSIX file package format. The MSIX packaged applications can be installed and run on any device with Windows 10 17682 build or later. Developers can use the MakeAppx tool to package their application with MSIX. Microsoft also mentioned that MSIX is not currently supported by the App Certification Kit nor the Microsoft Store for now.

And this release also includes bug fixes and under development changes to the API surface area. This Windows SDK will now formally only be supported by Visual Studio 2017 and greater. This release also contains the new LauncherOptions.GroupingPreference property to help your app in tailoring its behavior for Sets. Watch the presentation here for more details.

The updated Preview SDK can be downloaded here. You can find the list of new API additions here.
