Windows 10 reaches all-time high with gamers as Windows 7 continues to decline

Steam’s hardware survey report for the month of June is out today. The survey results show continued growth for Windows as a whole, but the only version of the OS that gained market share last month was Windows 10. According to the report, Windows 10 is now being used by 51.23% of gamers — which is actually the OS’ all-time high share on the Steam Hardware Survey. The OS only gained 0.03% market share from April which isn’t too bad considering the fact that Windows 10 is still the most popular OS for Steam users at the moment.
Windows 7, on the other hand, lost 0.61% — now powering 36.14% of all Steam users. There isn’t anything particularly interesting in the latest Steam Hardware Survey, and all the changes follow the similar pattern we’ve seen for the past several months.
Windows 10 will eventually gain most of the users from Windows 7 in the coming years as the mainstream support for Windows 7 is set to end soon. In the meantime, you can checkout the full report here.
