WhatsApp recently introduced a Snapchat-like Status feature to their service, and according to WhatsApp watcher WABetaInfo the company has now brought the feature to the Web and desktop app.

If you use the latest version of the WhatsApp app on your phone, the WhatsApp Web app now features a Status icon (pictured above), from which users can received Status updates and upload photos, videos and Gifs and also open your webcam to take a picture.

When you open a status, it will be marked as read if the Read Receipt option is enabled and, if you want, you can type a reply.
