WhatsApp has released a new iOS beta update (version 25.13.10.71) via the TestFlight program, introducing a more accessible and user-friendly interface for creating status updates. This update brings iOS in line with Android’s recent improvements, aiming for a consistent experience across platforms.
The redesigned status creation screen now includes two dedicated shortcuts — one for text-based updates and another for voice notes. Previously, these features were harder to locate, especially the voice status option, which was buried within the text update interface. By placing shortcuts directly within the gallery sheet, WhatsApp has made it quicker and easier for users to express themselves in different formats.

In addition to faster access to text and voice updates, the new layout features a grid showing recent media from the user’s device. Users can also take a new photo or record a video directly from this screen.
These changes are intended to enhance user engagement by making sharing easier and promoting a more playful and creative use of status updates.
The update is currently available to select beta testers but is gradually rolling out to more users, including those on the stable version.
WhatsApp is constantly working to improve the interface in order to provide a better user experience on any device .
