WhatsApp Introduces Four New Features for Status Update, Here's What You Need To Know

WhatsApp announced four new features for its Status updates, aiming to make them more expressive and interactive. These enhancements will roll out gradually to users over the coming months.

The first addition, Layout, allows users to create photo collages by combining up to six images in a single Status update. This feature provides built-in editing tools for customizing the arrangement of photos.

The second feature, More with Music, enables users to share a song directly as a Status update or convert it into a music sticker. This sticker can be added to another Status post, such as a selfie, adding an audio element to visual content.

Thirdly, Photo Stickers let users turn any photo into a sticker. These stickers can be resized and shaped as desired before being added to a Status update.

Lastly, the Add Yours sticker introduces an interactive element. Users can post a prompt, like “Best coffee moment,” inviting friends to respond with their own photos or stories, fostering community engagement.

These features are part of WhatsApp’s ongoing efforts to enhance user expression while maintaining the platform’s end-to-end encryption and privacy-first approach.
