WhatsApp has updated its desktop web extension to 0.3.3328.0, bringing a fix for an issue which stopped the app from working.

Users have been hit with a message that demands they update the app via the app store, but no update has been available.

The changelog reads:

The app returned to normal operation after a temporary problem that prevented it from being used.
