It’s recently come to light that both the PC and PlayStation 4 versions of Five Nights at Freddy’s VR: Help Wanted contain game-breaking bugs that can seriously mess up your save file.

Warning: This article contains minor spoilers for Five Nights at Freddy’s VR: Help Wanted!

The bug for PlayStation 4 users is caused by unlocking the Platinum Trophy, known as Celebrate!, for the game. The Platinum Trophy is only attainable by unlocking all other trophies, so you should be safe as long as you’re not a perfectionist.

The discovery was posted on Reddit by user u/Playstation-Jedi. The bug breaks your save file, meaning that every time you try to load the game, it crashes. There’s no known fix for it at the moment, but Steel Wool have confirmed that they’re working on patching it as soon as possible.

The PC bug is a little less game breaking, but is still bad news for your save file nonetheless. It’s also encountered by earning the Celebrate! trophy, and breaks the game by permanently leaving you in hard mode. u/DJSterf detailed his experiences with the bug in a Reddit comment.

Hard mode is accessed by flipping a lever on the desk in the main menu. Once this bug is encountered, all flipping the lever does it turn the in-game balloons from neon to normal. Being permanently stuck in hard mode means that most of the game levels are inaccessible.

If you’re a Five Nights at Freddy’s VR: Help Wanted player, just steer clear of achieving all the trophies for now. The safest way to do this is by purposely not getting the Showtime! achievement, which is acquired by placing the Bonnie, Chica, and Freddy action figures on the Prize Corner counter in the same positions they normally appear onstage.

We’ll update when the bugs are patched out.
