We have been expecting VideoLan’s video player VLC to hit the Windows Phone Store for some years now, and most recently by the end of August, according to a tip by ex-Microsoftie Nawzil.

We have even seen screen shots of the app (above) but it seems the app remains interminably Coming Soon.

Now Thomas Nigro, designer and developer for Videolan, has posted on twitter that there has been another delay in the development of the app.

He did not explain the nature of the delay, but has posted previously that there were some remaining issues with the ARM compiler which was delaying the Windows Phone app.

While there are other multi-format video players, when VLC does finally hit the Windows Phone Store the Universal App is likely to be a lot more full featured than any other, hopefully making the long wait worthwhile.
