Vine app for Windows Phone updated with goodbye message

Back in October, Twitter announced the company is killing its Vine service and more recently in December 2016 they announced that the service would be replaced on the 17th January with a new “Vine Camera” app which would offer the 6-second video feature of the app without the social network.

Now Twitter has pushed out an update to the  Windows Phone version of the app which delivers the goodbye message above, saying:

“Vine on Windows is no longer supported or available in the Windows App Store from January 17, 2017. More here vine.co/faq”

The Vine.co/FAQ page makes no reference to Windows, so at this point it is not clear if a Vine Camera app for Windows is on the way, and given the status of Windows Phone it seems somewhat unlikely.

Vine was of course not the most successful service ever (the main reason why they shut down). Are any of our readers still Vine users? Let us know below.
