Gamers have been asking for a new Splinter Cell title for years and it looks like it’s finally happening. While we won’t be able to play it for many years to come, Ubisoft is in the pre-production phase meaning that they’re looking at possible stories and have a lot of ideas floating around. In an interview on Reddit, Ubisoft head Yves Guillemot responded to a question by saying:

“Splinter Cell is a brand we talk about a lot. It’s also personally one of my favorite series. We don’t have anything specific to share at the moment but teams are working on different things, so stay tuned for more…We are receiving lots of sketches and proposals around the brand, and we’re going to pick one up…I think you will be able to see something, but you will have to wait for that.”

This is great news for those hoping that Ubisoft hadn’t abandoned the series. Hopefully the wait won’t be too long and the company will tease the title at E3 2018. Ubisoft is known to pump out games but recently they’ve taken a most restrained and cautious approach to releases like Assassin’s Creed Origins. While everyone wants a new Splinter Cell experience badly, maybe having a title which blows everyone away and takes a little longer to complete will be worth it.
