Ubik Studios is set to release Leila, an emotionally rich puzzle-adventure game that explores the inner world of a middle-aged woman confronting the layered experiences that have shaped her identity. Developed over two years, Leila offers a rare, introspective journey into the complexities of memory, trauma, and healing—all seen through a deeply personal and subtly feminist lens.

Players step inside Leila’s mind via a mysterious device gifted by her daughter, navigating through decades of memories. From regrets to “what ifs,” the game invites players to piece together her life through creative puzzles and hand-crafted cinematics that echo the style of short animated films. Each chapter deepens the emotional narrative while shedding light on the overlooked stories that often define women’s lives.

Leila doesn’t shout its feminism—it lives it. By putting perspective of a woman at the center, it offers players a chance to experience empathy, reflection, and personal growth in a space not often represented in gaming. As the player uncovers Leila’s past, they’re also invited to explore their own. In doing so, Leila quietly revolutionizes the way games can tell stories—not just of heroes, but of humans.
