Twitter’s upcoming bookmark feature will let you save that spicy tweet for later

As part of a hackathon, Twitter engineers built a new feature for the service which lets users save tweets for later. Saving things online is quite difficult, especially when you have multiple devices with different operating systems. People have been using Pocket to save articles to read later, and lots of other things that can be saved for viewing later. But when you want to save a tweet on Twitter, that can be difficult. Many have used the favorite/like button on Twitter to save things for years, but that’s no longer the perfect solution because of Twitter’s new algorithmic timeline which sometimes shows the tweets you like on your followers’ timeline.

Twitter’s new bookmarking feature is going to tackle that problem. The company is going to integrate a new bookmarking feature into its app for everyone soon, and it will let you easily save things on Twitter for later. One of Twitter’s program managers showed off the feature working on Twitter’s mobile website recently, and it works just like you’d expect:

Twitter isn’t saying when the feature will be generally available, so it could take months before you can actually start using the feature anytime soon. This is also Twitter we are talking about here, so the feature likely won’t be available across all of your devices and on services like TweetDeck on day 1.
