On the 8th of January, Kalypso Media posted on their blog that Tropico 6 has had its release date pushed back to the 29th of March, 2019.

The post, written by Simon Hellwig, Owner and Managing Director of Kalypso Media Group, details that Tropico 6 is “good, but not very good, or outstanding. Yet.” and that based on feedback from beta testers and from Simon’s own experience playing the game, Kalypso have decided to postpone the game’s release so they can improve it.

Kalypso and Limbic are ‘working hard’ to add as many enhanced features as requested by the community as possible and to improve the gameplay. The blog post states that the game could “benefit from more balancing, testing and enhancement” in order to meet Kalypso’s high standards.

The company apologizes for the short notice and for the delay and say that players can always return or refund their pre-order if they so wish.

However, if you don’t want to return the game and are willing to wait it out, then you’ll be rewarded for your patience. If you have pre-ordered the game before 7PM (CET) on January 10th via the Kalypso Shop, Steam, or any other digital platform, you’ll receive the first DLC for free of charge upon its release.

Tropico 6 is an upcoming construction and management simulation game. It’s developed by Limbic Entertainment and published by Kalypso Media. Like the other instalments in the Tropico series, the game allows the player to assume the role of “El Presidente”, the leader of the Caribbean island nation of Tropico, and support or destroy their island during four different eras.
