The Evil Within took everyone by surprise when it released all those years ago. Many considered it a spiritual successor to the Resident Evil series which—at least until that point—was focused on action rather than providing gamers with a true horror experience. The Evil Within satisfied players and they’ve been asking for a sequel ever since. It looks like Bethesda and Tango Gameworks finally heard their cries!
Today, a job description appeared on the developer’s recruiting portal which asked for a translator to help with the project. Since the team will be communicating in Japanese, they need someone to translate their bug reports into English so that other teams abroad can understand what they’re talking about and need assistance with. Understanding the nature of the problem is the first step in addressing it and language barriers pose a significant challenge to developers based in separate countries.
The title reads “PSYCHOBREAK2” which refers to The Evil Within’s Japanese title. The addition of the “2” clearly points to a sequel for the popular game. Other details like the nearest station, pay grade, tester disclaimer and platforms confirm that The Evil Within 2 is in the works.
Bethesda will hold their E3 2017 press conference on Sunday, June 11. The company should be the first third-party publisher to go after Microsoft opens the show earlier that day. It’s probably safe to assume that the company will official reveal The Evil Within 2 during that event.
