A handful of games release on Xbox One every week, ranging from AAA titles to lesser-known indie games. Xbox Wire compiles many of these releases, but misses a few and does not give any recommendations. Here are some of the games coming out the week of March 19 through March 25 that we think you should check out. The biggest release is the long-awaited launch of Sea of Thieves, which is finally coming to Xbox One and Windows 10 after months of technical tests.
Sea of Thieves
Sea of Thieves needs little introduction at this point. Rare’s shared-world pirate adventure has gone through several technical tests and open betas over the past few months, allowing players to get just a taste of the experience. Players can immerse themselves in the full game, complete with all of its quests and the kraken, starting on March 20. It launches into Xbox Game Pass on the same day.
Assassin’s Creed Rogue Remastered
One of two Assassin’s Creed titles to release in 2014, Assassin’s Creed Rogue was actually considered the stronger one compared to Unity even though it launched on last-gen consoles. It follows Assassin-turned-Templar Shay Patrick Cormac during the Seven Years’ War in North America. The remastered edition will feature 4K resolution support, higher resolution textures and shadows, improved environmental rendering, and new visual effects. It also comes with all DLC and expansions.
A Way Out
A Way Out was a surprise hit at EA’s E3 2017 press conference. Developed by Hazelight Studios, A Way Out is a co-op game following two convicts who attempt to break out of prison. Players will need to cooperate with each other in order to pull off the escape and stay on the run from authorities.
Attack on Titan 2
Attack on Titan 2 is a hack and slash game based on the anime of the same name. The narrative takes place after the first game and adapts some of the later manga volumes. You’ll fight alongside Eren and his friends as they take down giant Titans with their signature omni-directional mobility gear.
PixARK
Like its title suggests, PixARK is essentially a mash-up of Ark: Survival Evolved and Minecraft. It combines Ark’s survival simulation aspects with voxel-based graphics reminiscent of Minecraft. PixARK is set to feature over 100 different creatures that can be tamed around its procedurally generated maps. A creative mode will also be available for players to relax and build whatever they want. It enters Xbox Game Preview on March 27. [Edit: It appears that Xbox Wire has its release date listed as March 23 next week, however according to a press release it will launch on March 27.]
R.B.I. Baseball 18, Titan Quest, The Count Lucanor, Where Are My Friends?, MX vs ATV All Out, and Western Press are also releasing next week. If any of these look like they may interest you, give them a shot and try them out for yourself.
