At E3 2017, numerous amazing games were shown off but some leave a mark on you more than others. This year we saw so many interesting titles like Black Desert, Code Vein, Dark and Light, Ori and the Will of the Wisps and others. Making a top 10 list is always hard so you have to pick and choose which titles left a lasting impact on you. Here are ours because we were absolutely blown away by these games. There are also a few Microsoft exclusives in there!

Assassin’s Creed Origins

Assassin’s Creed Origins makes the switch to a proper RPG with loot and other upgrades. This is the defining evolution of the franchise and we hope it continues in subsequent entries in the series. It also looks gorgeous on Xbox One X.

Metro Exodus

Metro Exodus was one of the biggest surprises of E3 2017 and the game looks beautiful. The open environments really add to the peril because you don’t know what’s lurking behind that corner…or building.

Anthem

No one expected BioWare to reveal their next game so soon after Mass Effect: Andromeda shipped. It turns out it’s a Destiny-like game which is being designed with the Xbox One X in mind. Hopefully it’ll have a compelling story because the gameplay looks great.

Middle-earth: Shadow of War

We didn’t find Middle-earth: Shadow of War that appealing before because it looked too similar to its prequel. However, after experiencing more gameplay, we can safely say that it’s different and a substantial leap over its predecessor. The game world is absolutely massive and you’ll easily get lost completing all the side quests.

Wolfenstein II: The New Colossus

Wolfenstein II: The New Colossus is an action game but it also appears to tell a serious but quirky story. It was definitely a standout title because of the different gameplay mechanics the developers added to it. It’s also a substantial leap over its prequel.

Far Cry 5

Far Cry 5 will be a controversial title because it deals with taking down a Trump-like figure. However, the gameplay is solid and the ability to fly planes and find other ways to wreck havoc is amazing!

Sea of Thieves

Sea of Thieves seemed somewhat boring when it was first revealed but the developers have expanded the game in such a way that it’s beyond thrilling and tense. It’s especially harrowing when you encounter other pirates and have to bring a treasure chest on board. Hopefully it has compelling missions apart from just exploring and looting.

Forza Motorsport 7

Forza Motorsport 7 has always been a technical showcase for Xbox One but this game raises the bar even further. It looks absolutely stunning on Xbox One X and the fact that it runs at native 4K 60 FPS is mind-blowing. It might just be the best looking game ever made.

Black Desert

Black Desert is one of the best MMORPGs around and has become somewhat of a sensation since its 2014 release. The game looks amazing on Xbox One X and we can’t wait until it’s out.

The Last Night

The Last Night was a controversial and difficult choice because Code Vein, Crackdown 3 (which takes at least 12 hours to properly finish) and Ori and the Will of the Wisps all look amazing. However, The Last Night’s Inside-like gameplay and never-before-seen pixel art style is definitely unique. We can’t wait to experience it soon.

It’s always hard picking which games are the best because a lot of the time it’s subjective. However, we hope that you’ll agree with many of our choices. Which games would you have liked to see in the list? Let us know. We tried to choose games we either played or saw detailed gameplay of. Out of all of these, we’re probably excited about Assassin’s Creed Origins and Metro Exodus the most.
