TinyBuild has announced a brand-new title in their impressive indie repertoire, Not For Broadcast, an immersive propaganda simulator.

Developed by NotGames and published by Hello Neighbor publisher TinyBuild, Not For Broadcast is described as a high pressure propaganda sim in which players control the news, a perfect game to accompany this year’s General Election.

Set in an alternate 1980s where the nation stumbles towards dystopia, you’ll join the National Nightly News team as they take you from laughter to dread in the course of a commercial break.

Your job is to take over the reins at the control desk of a national news channel just was a radical government files into power. You’ll not only keep the audience entertained with flashy editing, but you’re also tasked with censoring inappropriate (or unapproved) language, cueing the best ads to fill their pockets, deciding the headlines and navigating extreme technical difficulties.

Not for Broadcast has a free prologue episode available for players to download right now on Steam. The demo features an introduction to running the National Nightly News switchboard while you manage everything from cueing advertisements, cutting an interview with pompous thespian Laurence Blundercatch, and live editing a public statement from the winning political party – after they’ve already had a few pints to celebrate.

The game will launch on January 30th, 2020. While the game will launch with three chapters, more are set to come down the line. A total of ten chapters will be included in the full release, all evolving based on fan feedback.
