Apple may have a hidden “one more thing” with the iPhone 12, with the FCC filing for the device revealing that it supports reverse wireless charging.
If this FCC filing is any indication, the iPhone 12 may have a hidden reverse charging feature. Perhaps MagSafe on the new AirPods? https://t.co/QhFQtOgoRB https://t.co/OAKzzb5U3B pic.twitter.com/pqAVcjLCyN

Noticed by Venturebeat’s Jeremy Horwitz, the document notes that the MagSafe charger also “support WPT charging function at 360Hz to charge accessories.”
It is speculated that the new generation Airpods will likely support MagSafe, and would therefore be charged by iPhone 12 handsets in the future.
Presumably, it only awaits a software update from Apple, and hackers are already scouring iOS 14 for the switch. It remains to be seen if Apple will make this feature available for general use, or, like NFC, reserve it only for its own-brand accessories and purposes.
