Bethesda Softworks and Bethesda Game Studios are stirring excitement among The Elder Scrolls fans with a teaser for an announcement regarding the much-rumored remaster of The Elder Scrolls 4: Oblivion. Several official Bethesda accounts on Bluesky shared an intriguing image featuring a close-up of a warrior’s eye, along with the Roman numeral “IV,” sparking speculation about a potential reveal for the remaster of the beloved 2006 RPG. The announcement is scheduled for 11:00 a.m. ET / 8:00 a.m. PT today, April 22, 2025, and will be streamed on Bethesda’s official YouTube and Twitch channels.

Rumors of The Elder Scrolls 4: Oblivion remaster have been circulating for some time, especially after the game was mentioned in a list of leaked ZeniMax Media projects during the Microsoft vs. FTC court hearing. Recent leaks from Virtuos, a support studio thought to be leading the development, have revealed logos and screenshots of the project. If true, the remaster will likely launch on Xbox Series X|S, PlayStation 5, and Windows PC, with a possible shadow drop release. Oblivion Remastered will also be available via Xbox Game Pass Ultimate and PC Game Pass.
The original Oblivion was a critical and commercial success, selling over 3 million copies by 2007.
