Eight months after the opening of the Gigafactory 3, Tesla completed production of its first Model 3 body-in-white in the Chinese factory.

Tesla optimistically assigned the date for the start of production to be the 14th October, which is now exactly a week away.

Many questioned whether the company would actually pull it off, but sightings of the first Model 3 on the tracks of the Gigafactory 3 reassure us that Tesla will meet the deadline after all.

Of course, there is the possibility that the Model 3 wasn’t made on-site; but why would they test a Tesla from another country?

Musk has said he aims to deliver 3000 vehicles from Gigafactory 3 per week when the factory is in full swing by the end of the year.  The completion of the factory should go a long way to helping Telsa meet its goal of producing half a million cars per year by 2020.
