It seems MobileSyrup did not quite know what they had their hands on earlier, but the roar of hurrah’s must have finally reached them, as they have now dedicated a full video to showing the 3.5mm head phone jack, now confirmed, in action.

A little known feature of the HTC Touch Pro 2 related to this is that it has different volume levels between the headphone jack and the external speaker which switch automatically when the headphones are plugged in, which is a pretty nice touch, and that volume can be adjusted even when the device is suspended, indicating HTC is finally getting that we want to use our business phones for entertainment also. Now if they had only implemented track skipping by press and hold of the volume keys, like on the Blackberry, we would be in digital music nirvana.
