SwiftKey for iPhone updated with emoji prediction, new themes and more

Microsoft today released a major update for SwiftKey app for iPhone, iPad and iPod touch devices. This new update includes bunch of new features like emoji prediction, improvements to 3D Touch and more.

Whenever you want to insert an emoji, you generally scroll through a huge list of emojis to find the perfect one you want. SwiftKey is trying to resolve this problem with a new feature. When you tap on the regular emoji key, you will find a new emoji prediction panel. After you’ve typed something, tap the emoji key, you’ll see a set of 18 emoji that match your sentence, making it faster than ever to insert the emoji you want.

This update also includes 8 new ‘Oxygen‘ themes in a spectrum of vibrant colors including Red, Orange, Yellow, Green, Light Blue, Blue, Purple and Pink. You can get these themes for free from the ‘Design’ section of the app.

Based on the user feedback, SwiftKey has made improvements to 3D Touch behaviour. 3D Touch to trigger cursor control and the ability to swipe to move the cursor are now more responsive. They have also added haptic feedback for certain keyboard actions, like opening the emoji panel for users on iPhone 7 or above.

SwiftKey for iOS already supports over 100 languages on iOS and today they are adding support for following 15 languages.

  • Akan (Twi)
  • Egyptian Arabic
