Surface-Book-image-8 Microsoft Surface Book starts at $1500, but if you want discrete GPU, you have to spend $1899 up front. Many of our readers were asking whether Surface Book keyboard base which includes the GPU can be bought separately. Because, if you are buying an entry level Surface Book now and if you want to upgrade to discrete GPU model after sometime, you can buy the GPU included keyboard base alone. Unfortunately, Microsoft has no plans to sell Surface Book keyboard base separately. In the event of lost, stolen or damaged base, Microsoft will replace it on the basis of customer-service issue.
