Regular readers will know we often review battery power banks, but a new battery being developed by StoreDot could mean the end to that industry, and to worrying about battery life.
The StoreDot Nanodot uses bio-organic nano crystals that lets the battery store a whole days worth of current in only 30 seconds.
The company has already developed the technology into prototype phase, seen in the video above, but it is currently too bulky to fit into a smartphone. They will be showing off this at CES in January 2015, and hope to have a slim commercial unit on sale by 2016. Then it will cost a considerable $100-$150 and last 1,500 recharge/ discharge cycles, which will hopefully continue to come down in the years that follow.
