sbiIndia’s largest bank, the State Bank of India, is working on a Windows Phone app.

They delivered the information to  reader Prathyush when he asked if they will be supporting his Lumia.

In an email they said:

Dear Sir,

This is with reference to your mail dated 18-06-2013. We thank you for showing interest in our mobile banking services.We are in the process for developing app for lumia Window phones and will revert you shortly when it is launched.

Windows Phone is rapidly gaining market share in India, and support by banks for the new OS has been quite encouraging.  Having SBI on board will however ensure the largest number of Indian buyers will be able to do their banking from their Windows Phone.
